Xeriscaping in Kelowna & West Kelowna

Less lawn to maintain. More outdoor space to enjoy.

Xeriscaping is more than replacing lawn with rock. A well-designed xeriscape considers how water moves through the property, existing sun and shade conditions, soil, plant selection, irrigation and how you want to use the space.
We bring those elements together to create a landscape that looks intentional, performs well and requires less water and maintenance than a traditional lawn-heavy yard.

Deb Oakley

We couldn’t be more impressed with Dave and his team. Our project had difficult access and no clear plan going in. After meeting with Dave and sharing a general idea of what we wanted, he put together a rough design, a realistic budget, and a solid plan to get it done. The final result completely blew us away, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. I highly recommend Dave and his team for all your hardscaping needs, you won’t be disappointed!

I had Dave work on my yard and I’m over the moon happy with the outcome. The masonary wall he created grabs your attention and is always commented on by friends. I’ll be asking him to do my front yard next summer. Thanks Dave!!

FAQs

Does xeriscaping mean my yard will just be rocks and gravel?

Not at all. Xeriscaping uses drought-tolerant plants, native grasses, shrubs, and trees alongside mulch or decorative rock. The goal is a full, attractive landscape that simply needs far less water than a traditional lawn.

Most homeowners see a 50–75% reduction in outdoor water use once plants are established. Drip irrigation delivers water directly to the roots, so very little is lost to evaporation or runoff.

Yes, especially during the first one to two seasons while roots establish. After that, most plantings need only occasional deep watering during extended dry spells, and many need none at all.

It’s one of the best fits. Hot, dry summers and watering restrictions make water-wise landscaping practical here, and many native and adapted plants thrive in our conditions with minimal maintenance.
